Precision Grinding

Effective regrouting of masonry with cutting-edge robot technology

Precision Grinding A/S has invented, developed, and tested a robot that can handle extensive grinding projects faster, cheaper, and with a focus on the work environment.

Our robot is the future way of grinding large brick surfaces – It's only in a matter of years until it replaces the manual laborer and becomes the first choice of method.

NEW LIFE TO OLD BRICK WALLS

Masonry has a long lifespan, almost 80 years, but only if the mortar is maintained correctly. Weather and wind outwear the mortar earlier, making the bricks prone to moisten.

Today most masonry maintenance is done with repeated manual labor – physically exhausting and an acknowledged work environment problem. Patchy solutions are ineffective, which is why most properties choose full grouting.

Northern Europe has a unique tradition of building brick houses and is, therefore, also our largest market. Precision Grinding is designed to handle the market demand, but without the extensive need for manual labor.

THE HARD DATA AND ESG FACTORS

Our robot's cutting-edge technology utilizes 3 motor drives for precise x-y-z movements, and it’s equipped with powerful grinding tools. Controlled by highly advanced vision software, the robot can distinguish between mortar and stones. Additionally, machine learning is continuously being utilized to advance its performance.

One of the major benefits is its ability to improve ESG factors in the construction sector. It can grind 19 sq/hour, while 2 laborers can only grind 6 sq/hour. The robot also ensures complete uniformity in the grinding process. Furthermore, it reduces the hard labor and leaves only specialized tasks such as windows and doors for the laborers.
